Catherine Carilli’s artwork is in The Permanent Collection of 20th Century Modernism by Colorado Artists, at the Vance Kirkland Museum in Denver, Colorado. Kirkland Museum, including Vance Kirkland’s historic studio, is a National Trust Associate Site in the Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios group, the only one in the 8-state Mountain/Plains region. Other artists in the group include Jackson Pollack and Lee Krasner, Thomas Hart Benton, Charles Burchfield, Grant Wood, N.C. “One Rwanda” is the rallying cry that reverberates throughout Rwanda. The country was shattered by atrocious civil war and years of systematic genocide until 1994. This sentiment “One Rwanda” is heard from both Tutsis and Hutus in unison. The show contains images from my journey to Rwanda. The photographs reflect the people of Rwanda, the cities and landscapes of Rwanda, and the genocide memorials in a country that is healing and rebuilding.
